Teeth Implants Give You Back a Beautiful Smile

Implants as we know them today have been around for about 50 or 60 years. As long as people have been losing teeth, they have searched for good ways to replace them. Several years ago, it was discovered that titanium fuses easily with bone material, so most teeth implants today are made from this metal. The implant and your bone chemically bond over the course of a few months, forming a sturdy base to which we can attach replacement teeth that will last for many years.

Your individual circumstances will determine in large part what type of implant procedure we use to restore your smile. However, below are some common procedures we perform using implants:

  • Single Implant With a Crown – If you have just one tooth missing, we can use one implant with a new crown anchored to the top of it to restore your tooth. No one will be able to tell it’s not your natural tooth.
  • Implant-Supported Bridge – This type of bridge will use two or more implants to remain stable and durable. There will be one or more artificial teeth in the middle known as pontics.
  • Implant-Retained Dentures – We’ll use a system of snaps and balls to attach your dentures to a set of implants. They’ll stay securely in place until you remove them.
  • Implant-Supported Dentures – Your dentures will attach to a metal bar that is screwed into a set of implants. These dentures are quite comfortable, as they transfer the forces of biting and chewing directly to your jawbone.
  • All-on-4® Implants – With just four implants placed per arch, your dentist can anchor a complete row of fixed teeth. You’ll never have to remove them for cleaning or care.
  • All-on-6 Implants – This procedure is similar to All-on-4, except that we’ll use six implants per arch (upper or lower) for added stability.
  • Full-Mouth Reconstruction – If you’re missing all or nearly all your teeth, we’ll design a custom plan to restore all your teeth, giving you back a beautiful smile and strong bite.

Common Questions About Dental Implants

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are small titanium posts that serve as artificial teeth roots when you’ve lost one or more teeth. We insert them into your jawbone, where they will integrate with your bone and become a sturdy base for replacement teeth. Your dental implant restoration options include crowns, bridges, dentures, an All-on-4® restoration, and an All-on-6 restoration.

Are dental implants painful?

Having a dental implant placed is not painful because your jaw will be numbed, and you can stay completely relaxed with dental sedation throughout the procedure. Once you go home, you might require pain relievers for a day or two, but most of our patients report only taking over-the-counter medication following their dental implant procedure. Most feel well enough to return to work the day after.

How much do dental implants cost?

As you might imagine, the cost for dental implants can vary widely depending on several factors. The number of implants, their location, and the type of replacement teeth used all come into play to determine the final cost of implant treatment. At an initial consultation, we will work up a treatment plan and give you an estimate.
