Keep Your Smile Healthy With Our Skills & Experience

At Relax Dental, we love helping our patients with their oral care needs. Unlike some dental offices, we offer a number of oral surgery procedures in-house so you don’t have to spend time and money going to see a specialist. Plus, we can speed your healing time by using platelet-rich fibrin, which is a by-product of your own blood, during your procedure.

Below are the types of oral surgery we routinely perform here:

  • Tooth Extractions – We’ll gently remove your damaged tooth if we’re not able to save it.
  • Wisdom Teeth Removal – These third molars can sometimes cause problems and need extraction.
  • Bone Grafts – A bone graft prepares your weak and/or thin jawbone for dental implants.
  • Sinus Lifts – This is a type of bone graft for your upper jaw.
  • Ridge Augmentation – We’ll build up your jaw ridge either in preparation for implants or for aesthetic reasons.
  • Gum Grafts – A gum graft involves placing either your own tissue or donor tissue in areas where your gums have receded.

Don’t put off getting the care you need. Call Relax Dental today at 336-444-6608 to schedule an a consultation for oral surgery in High Point. You can also request an appointment.

Common Questions About Oral Surgery

When would I need oral surgery?

There are several circumstances that might require oral surgery. If you or your loved one has a badly damaged or diseased tooth, it may need removal. Likewise, wisdom teeth often cause problems as they emerge and need to be extracted. Other procedures like bone grafts, sinus lifts, and ridge augmentations prepare for treatments such as dental implants. Gum grafts will repair receded gums and help them heal properly.

When is oral surgery covered by insurance?

Your dental insurance or medical insurance may cover a portion of your oral surgery. We recommend you check with your individual carriers to find out what they will and won’t pay for before you have any work done. That way there aren’t any big surprises in store for you. As a convenience, we offer third-party financing through CareCredit.

When can I exercise after oral surgery?

For the first 24 hours after your oral surgery, you should not exercise at all. Doing too much too fast can actually create problems and prolong healing. Overexertion can loosen the blood clot from an extraction site and cause a painful condition known as dry socket. After the first 24 hours, limit your exercise to low-impact activities for several more days.
